Rufus says "Ruff;" As in life can certainly be rough at times. Rufus is a handsome 18 pound mixed breed dog just 1 year old. He appears to be a cross between Papillon and some form of Spaniel, but who can say for sure. Rufus comes to us from the Brooklyn Shelter where he was turned in as a stray. He was so petrified in the shelter system that he scored quite badly on his temperament test, but has been very friendly and well behaved since coming into rescue. His foster family reports that he has been very sweet and loving and has bonded particularly strongly with his foster dad, whom he shadows everywhere. Rufus is in need of an adult only home where someone will shower him with love and TLC. He is a healthy boy who has been neutered, microchipped, is current on all shots and has tested negative for heartworm. He will be professionally groomed before adoption and will go home with a new leash and collar.
